Yucatan Crippled Children’s Project

Hatch mexicoIn January Dr. Hatch traveled to Mexico along with third year residents Evie Plummer and Bryce Jolley to assist with the Yucatan Crippled Children’s Project. The project was founded in 1996 by Dr. Charles C. Southerland and has continued on with the help of the International Foot and Ankle Foundation for Education and Research and Barry University.   Dr. Hatch and his residents volunteer their time on this mission trip by rounding on post op patients, evaluating patients for future surgeries, and performing innovative and complex surgeries on patients who may have otherwise had to go without.  On this past mission trip 13 surgeries were preformed! It is such a privilege for Dr. Hatch to be able to use his years of expertise and his passion for helping people to provide assistance in this project annually. A special thanks to following companies for their donations of supplies and equipment: Osteomed®, Orthofix® and Wright Medical®.
