Get to know our Colorado Podiatrists and staff

Our doctors and staff believe in taking the time to listen and understand the needs of all of our patients. We take a personal interest in helping our patients overcome their foot and ankle problems. Dr. Daniel J. Hatch

Dr. Hatch’s number-one goal is offering patients improved mobility so they can better their health. After receiving his doctorate in podiatric medicine from the Illinois College of Podiatric Medicine in Chicago, Dr. Hatch began specializing in foot and ankle reconstruction and pediatric clubfoot.

A long time resident of northern Colorado, Dr. Hatch actively participates in a number of sports. He is also an amateur photographer. Dr. Hatch has served as the past president of both the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons and the Humane Society of Weld County.

Dr. Mike Vaardahl

Dr. Vaardahl became a podiatrist because he enjoys meeting people of diverse backgrounds, and helping them relieve their foot and ankle pain and suffering. An avid runner and tennis player, he wants everyone to stay active and pursue their goals and passions. He received his doctorate in podiatric medicine from Barry University in Miami Shores, Florida, and now specializes in diabetic foot care and wound care.

For the past 15 years, Dr. Vaardahl has called northern Colorado home. He is involved in the Greeley Rotary Club, and is currently serving as the chair of the membership committee for the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. Dr. Vaardahl is also the director of the North Colorado Medical Center Podiatric and Surgery Residency. When not hard at work, Dr. Vaardahl can be found playing with his two young boys.

Dr. Stacy M. Atherton

Dr. Atherton received her doctorate in podiatric medicine from the Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. She then spent four years of residency training at Temple University Hospital, specializing in reconstructive surgery and foot and ankle trauma.  In her free time she can be found enjoying the outdoors with her husband and 4 children.

Shelly Korell

Practice Manager

Shelly joined Foot & Ankle Center of Northern Colorado because she knew that she would be working in an environment where people come first. Taking that observation to heart, Shelly ensures everyone who comes into contact with our office is treated with respect. Shelly enjoys spending time with her husband and their 3 children and their spouses. She also enjoys cooking, reading, and walking.

Debbie Bierma

Billing and Coding Specialist

For 28 years, Debbie has been a key member of our staff. Currently, she handles all of our billing and coding, staying current on changes in health care and insurance. Debbie loves being active and is an avid hiker, biker, gardener, and exerciser. When not enjoying the outdoors, she scrapbooks for her two grandsons.

Authorization Specialist & Surgery Scheduler for Dr. Hatch

Nicki truly enjoys meeting new patients and caring for their foot and ankle needs. According to Nicki, the best part of working at Foot & Ankle Center of Northern Colorado is the camaraderie that the staff shares. Everyone has the same goal – providing the best possible care for each and every patient. Her hobbies include painting, hiking, and cooking.

Meghan appreciates the quality of care each patient receives as well as the atmosphere the employees bring to Foot & Ankle Center. In her spare time Meghan enjoys spending time with her 3 children. She also likes to participate in basketball, running, golfing, and camping.

Passionate about spending time with her family and photography Anyisia finds herself busy while she is away from the office. Helpful and friendly Anyisia assists our patients in registration, scheduling appointments, and answers any other questions they may have.

Megan Lawson

Medical Assistant in our Longmont Office

While not working Megan enjoys reading, hiking, and spending time with friends and family. Megan graduated from the University of Colorado double majoring in Integrative Physiology & Psychology. As a Certified Nursing Assistant she enjoys patient interaction and being able to play a role in improving the lives of people.

With a sweet smile and positive attitude Rebeca greets our patients in the Greeley Office. She likes meeting new patients and working to make their experience with our practice positive. Rebeca enjoys spending time with family, exercising, and reading.

Hana Movick

Medical Assistant for Dr. Atherton

In her spare time Hana enjoys spending time with family and friends, painting, playing music, and enjoying Colorado’s great outdoors. Hana has a B.A. in Music Performance, but is advancing her knowledge in the medical field at this time. She appreciates the genuine, professional care given to each patient, as well as each staff member working together to make each visit a positive experience for the patient.

Working with a wonderful team in a great environment and meeting new people are all reasons Heather enjoys working for Foot & Ankle. Heather is helpful and desires a positive experience for each patient. With an A.A. in music Heather enjoys singing, playing the piano, painting, and being outdoors.

Kimberly enjoys working with the doctors, staff, and patients answering billing questions. Kim is certified in Medical Billing & Coding. When not at work she enjoys reading, puzzles, and scuba diving.

Brenda Valencia

A busy mother of 2 little girls Brenda enjoys spending time with them as well as extended family. Brenda gives each patient quality time when helping them resolve any issues they may have encountered with their insurance billing.

Marcy enjoys coming to work daily as she loves helping people, and appreciates the caring environment created by the doctors and staff at Foot & Ankle. While not at work Marcy enjoys spending time with her 2 year old daughter, who keeps her on her toes. They both love to play outdoors. Marcy attended Front Range Community College taking classes in social work and psychology.

Sierra has her B.A. in International Studies from Colorado State University. When not at work, Sierra enjoys photography, sports, baking, and traveling. Sierra enjoys her time working as she feels the doctors and staff genuinely love what they do, and make each patients need a priority.
